Burnt Friedman
Burnt Friedman is one of Germany’s most long established and highly rated artists in the field of music with a career spanning over 40 years. He was born in Coburg, Germany in 1965, has lived in Cologne and Berlin until he moved to Porto in 2020.
Guiding Path
In 2022 Burnt Friedman and Drumming GP teamed up for a four–piece ensemble performance at the Semibreve festival in Braga and decided to continue with practice and investigation into the nature of groove. While shifting the focus away from cultural connotations of music towards the animating principle and the phenomenological vectors of rhythm, they view ‚groove‘ as the intrinsic attribute of regular harmonic motion patterns.
